Visitors expecting a strict Islamic city will be surprised to find that Dubai’s night life rivals that of many western cities. Dubai is a bustling and progressive metropolis, which has some of the most exceptional clubs and bars around. Dubai does not disappoint on this front. The nightlife is said to be rocking! You are guaranteed a good night out.

 The most popular Dubai clubs are the following: Planetarium. Planet Hollywood, Wafi City, Planetarium ( which is the most likely place in town to attract the big-name DJs). Scream, Ramada Hotel and Al-Mankhool Road (a ware-house type venue that blasts to an appreciative crowd.)  With mainstream choice of music, a restaurant and frequent live bands, the nightlife in Dubai can be described as brilliant.

Clubs in Dubai have some interesting laws; they must close at 3 am, you must be 21 to drink alcohol, 25 to enter a nightclub, and also they are not allowed by law to refuse entrance to anyone, including members only club. A lot of member clubs have very high entrance fees that they will charge, if you do insist on applying the law and entering their club.

 The city is teeming with pubs, bar and clubs though alcohol regulations mean that most are attached to hotels or clubs. Big name DJs are being attracted to Dubai clubs and bars, as a western style clubbing scene starts to develop. 

Best bars in Dubai

There is no specific nightlife districts as many of the best bars are in the big tourist hotels, which are situated throughout the city. Which are open until 0100 or 0200. Dress codes for bars are generally relaxed, although some bars and all clubs insist on no jeans, trainers or sandals. If you are looking for something less dear and livelier, your best bet is the independent bars. Thursday and Saturdays are the biggest nights for going out. Tuesdays and Sundays are often Ladies Night, with female revellers receiving free drinks.

 One of the oldest ex-pat bars, the Irish Village, Aviation club, off Al-Garhoud Road, is still going strong, with good range of beers and an outdoor seating area. It has stiff competition from other bars like The Pyramids, Wafi Centre. A favourite of Dubai’s beautiful people is the Swish Coho, Dubai Marina Resort, Jumeirah Beach Road, a bar-cum restaurant with real buzz.

Despite being an ultramodern city, Dubai is deep-rooted in its traditions. So, with every liberty comes a limitation. As the number of bars and nightclubs in Dubai increase, the government has put in place a few regulations that help in maintaining accord without spoiling the fun quotient.

Alcoholic Beverages in Dubai Nightclubs

Most bars are located in the major hotels of Dubai, as most of them are authorized to serve alcohol. Very few bars of Dubai operate independently after being permitted to do so. Therefore, you need to find out whether your hotel serves alcoholic beverages or not.

Membership in Dubai Nightclubs

According to the law, even the 'members only' nightclubs cannot refuse entrance to anyone. However, such clubs do charge hefty entry fees from visitors. Thus, you can enjoy the services of the plushest nightclubs in Dubai without being a member.
